Content can displayed on both owned channels (like a website) and rented channels like social media (twitter, facebook, instagram, etc).

Q: What is a content marketing plan?

A: A content marketing plan is a strategy for getting your content in front of your targeted audience. Targeted audiences can vary but generally they are a group or demographic of individuals who have the ability to give you what you need. For most businesses, their targeted audience is the people who are mostly likely to buy their products or services.

Content marketing plans integrate various methods to promote and distribute content. These can include, but are not limited to, email marketing, social media marketing, crowdfunding platforms, blogging, etc. In order for a content marketing plan to be successful, it must be data driven.

Q: What does SEO optimization mean and why should I invest in it?

A: SEO is an acronym that stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s basically a way of increasing traffic to your website by getting it to appear higher on the list of Google search results. The goal of any SEO campaign is that when a consumer searches for a product or service your business offers online, your website pops up first on the list.

Having a website that’s not search engine optimized is like riding a bike with a front tire that’s only half inflated. The back tire may be working just fine (ie, offline referrals, print ads, social media, etc) and you’ll probably be able to get to where you’re going, but the work is going to be much harder. Optimizing your website can help people find it much more easily. The ultimate goal for a pay per click campaign is to generate a high volume of link clicks while keeping costs reasonable based on your conversion rates and profit margins. The secret to this is tracking data, researching your competition, optimizing your content, creating compelling ads, and knowing what search terms, or keywords, to invest in.

Q: How do I determine the right marketing strategy for my website/business?

A: This is a complicated topic, but an important one. Marketing is all about testing, experimentation, and metrics. What may work for one business might not work for another. The most important thing is to determine your audience. From there you’ll be able to figure out what strategies you might want to try first.
